Attitude is everything. Any road might be a possible venue of delight, unless ofcourse, you're getting blown-up by an IED.

Took some time off working on the cars last weekend and drove southern Ohio's twisty back roads. Our groups selection was Rt. 800 south from I-70 to Woodsfield, Ohio where we picked up S.R. 78 east to S.R. 536 to the Ohio River. (where everything got real interesting) 536 is one twisty, windy, hilly, highway that can be a real bear to navigate. At the river we followed S.R. 7 south to Fly, Ohio where we had lunch at a little river diner in front of a river ferry landing. After lunch we proceeded up 7 to S. R. 255 back up into the hills. (536 was fun, 255 is an absolute workout for man's nerves and machines limits) At the end of 255 we again joined S.R. 800 for a few miles to S.R. 26 driving southeast to our overnight destination of Marietta. I had to return home Sunday morning, but the rest of the group drove the famed Ohio highway "The Triple Nickle" (S.R. 555) up to Zanesville.
I would recommend this routes to anyone wanting to get away from traffic, enjoy the beauty of the countryside,and who wants to test there abilities. Go early if possible and use common sense.
