Options for 3 main rebuild

I have a couple of non-running 3 main engines that I've decided to pull apart to "see how they work". I apparantly don't have much option in stroking them other than the G series crank (no mention if one used different pistons though) I know one of the vendors offers a stroker kit, but I don't know if I want to spend that kind of moneyon my first attempt to rebuilding an engine. Are there any other options?
Is it possible to use any of the H20 parts to rebuild one of these engine?

You can use many of the H20 parts for rebuilding R motors either 3 main or 5 main. Building a stroker requires a 5 main block or as you stated a G15 crank for a three main. Three main 1500 cranks are not very easy to come by though. A solid running 1600 is a lot of fun to drive. Motorpower Inc. out of Kentucky is a great source for after market H20 parts. A few parts that I know you can use are rods, pistons, rings, rod bearings, timing components(crankshaft gear, timing gear, chain, and tensioner), water pump, and complete gasket set. The H20 pistons are dished and will reduce the compression ratio on a stock head but work great for a cut head. I have a stroked 5 main with 2 liter SUs and a 5 speed tranny and it screams.
