Header and its proximity to the oil pan

Just being on the safe side, I would like to ask a question about the location of an aftermarket aluminium header. Mine is on and I had to essentially dent it so that it wouldn't touch the oil pan. Now that I put the motor back in, I noticed that it (including the flex collector) is very close to the oil pan. Just wanted to check to see if anyone else has had this experience and if I needed to rig up some kind of heat shield. It doesn't touch...just close.
Thanks,
Ivin

They all seem to fit real close. Several used ones I have lying around have been banged a bit here and there to fit. I am not using a heatshield of any kind but I do use the shorter 2 liter starters. A starter blanket wrap heat shield probably is not a bad idea but like I said I have nothing on mine. Others may have a different opinion but that is what makes this interesting.

Thanks Steve,
I already have a special heat blanket covering my starter. I put that on to protect it. I think that the oil pan will be fine.
Thanks,
Ivin
