Hi Folks,
I'm new to the Roadster world, but have restored old american cars and bikes before. I just bought 2 1966 roadsters, with the intention of putting one of them back on the road. I had a question about the brake and fuel hardlines. I would like to replace these with stainless (mainly because I live right by the water) but I can't find a source for them, yet.
They look very simple, and I've fabbed these lines before. Can anyone tell me the specs on the lines (diameter) and the fittings (NPT?). If I can get that I can just make some new ones out of straight tubing.
This SAE engine/metric elsewhere thing is throwing me for a loop...

The hard part has already been done! Classic Tube ( http://www.classictube.com/ ) has the tubes in stainless. They are for the later cars, but I believe that you can use all but one of them. Welcome to the fray!!

Yeah I went through that with inline tube on my last project.. a 1951 Chevy 3/4 Ton. I don't know why these vendors say they can make em.. they're always missing one pattern. Do you remember the tubing size? I guess I"ll just get out the gauge...Ldino21 wrote:For your information, make sure you save your old lines first. I am pretty sure the brake lines are standard 3/16ths and most if not all of the fittings are 3/8's x 24. I am guessing at the fuel line but it appears to be 1/4" tubing. There are I believe four fuel line fittings on the fuel line for the early cars. One at the tank, two at a splice underneath the passenger side and one at the fuel filter. Let us know the actual size of the fuel lines when you figure it out.

I whipped out the gauge today and measured the lines... the brake and clutch are 3/16ths and the fittings are 3/8-24. Hope that helps somefolks.
