Hi everyone. Just found this forum today and decided to join. I don't own a roadster or even a Datsun for that matter...but I do own one of their decendants. I'm the proud owner of a 2004.5 350Z.....which I drive the crap out of. She's got a little over 88,000 miles on the clock and has competed in many an SCCA (and otherwise) AutoCross. In the coming year I'm planning to get into doing road courses with my friends in the Carolina Z Club and during that time begin the conversion of the Z into a Hillclimb car (roll bar, fire system, etc, etc, etc).

Anyway, there's a gentleman in my Z Club who has a boat load of Fairlady Roadsters and I've become very interested in them since meeting him. So much so that I've come close to picking one up already....and am still very much interested in owning one (to do what with....who knows?). This is the first forum like this that I've been able to find....and will definitely be lurking about.

Here's a shot of what my car looks like currently....

And this is the Roadster that introduced me to the species so to speak....

All I can say is "Nice ride!" Watch out though "Datsun Sports" can be addictive. Welcome and go ahead and get your first one-fun to drive for sure.

Welcome and no need to search for a better site on the web. You will find nothing better than 311s.org.The best Datsun roadster resource around with some very knowledgable and helpful folks on board to boot.

Welcome. Nice pic. You didn't put your Location in your profile (hint-hint), but I'm guessing those are Carolina hills in the background. Where?

He must be in Charlotte as the Roadster with the strange paint is my Fathers. It is also up for sale, his leg problems are to the point that it is tough to drive.

I am not a fan of the paint scheme, but it has had a lot of work that went into it, anyone notice there are no door handles?

No roof to duck under, so shouldn't be a problem. I wouldn't recommend trying to slide across the hood, though. :smt005

That photo of my Z was taken at the Overlook on US 129...also known as the Tail of the Dragon. That road is a lot of fun....

Yeah...it's a great road. You should make it a point to visit....while you still can. Last year the THP cracked down really hard on any and all fun (and even on some folks just passing through) up there for a fair period. They've since lightened up a bit....but the police presence is still higher than it used to be.
