Hello from Alberta

I have been a Datsun fanatic for years and here in Alberta, there's not too many left. Have had a 1966 Roadster for about 10 years and also a 1972 510. The roadsters body is a little rusty so was always undecided whether or not to put much cash into it. The 510 though, only had 56,000 miles on it, so it became my main project. Friends would visit and question me why would I fix up a boxy sedan rather than a nice little convertible. To be honest at times I wondered as well. But anyway, last fall sway bars, coilovers, camber plates and other goodies associated with a good handling 510 were installed, I know this is a roadster forum, I'm getting to that soon.
Several months ago, I was getting an old truck hooked to go to the salvage yard, needed the space wasn't sure what for. Later that evening the guy calls me back, had seen some roadster fenders and hood in my yard and wondered if I was interested in another roadster, I couldn't say no. The next day on the drive i was wondering what I would find. Low windshield, High windshield, when I saw it had to bite my tongue hard, time to negotiate, a low windshield 2000. He owned a towing company and had got a call from an old guy about a car to get rid of. It was the original owner, had bought the car to drive to expo 67, don't know his age, but had lost interest. Anyway, has some rust around the rear wheels, one side worst than other, has headrests, licence plate trim, clock even works. Wasn't running when I bought it, is now, has the death rattle, but seems to sound strong, car has 83,000 miles.
I have been following this forum for a few months now and soon will need to start picking up bits and pieces. Give me a few years and hopefully SRL-000429 will be back on the road. May need some advice in the future, always enjoy logging on and seeing whats new on the forum. Am going to try to post one of the pictures of the car the tow truck guy had taken in its dusty state, hadn't been registered in 15 years.
