Greetings from Kansas.

My name is Lonny but go by Bonzi Lon on several Z-car sites and now this one. Several weeks ago I purchaced a 1968 Datsun 1600 Roadster in fairly descent condition considering they do go down hill fast if not cared for. It had 58K actual miles and I'm the fourth owner with all documentation from the beginning. It has been a Kansas car all its life with the previous owner putting 1285 miles on it in 25 years! I'm going to drive is this summer then decide on a restoration or refurbishment. It has everything with it so I don't really need any parts (yet). It is one fun little car, I refer to as a roller skate.

I also have a 1973 240Z, purchaced in 1977, that has just been refurbished after spending the last 28 years in the back of my garage.

I know I will have plenty of questions and know about the search button, it will be my friend.

Thank you for letting me be part of your group

Welcome!
A Roadster is a very good garage companion to a '73 240Z.
You will enjoy them both, I'm sure

Lonny,

Welcome and glad to see you got things sorted out. I am in southwest Missouri and there are several roadster owners in the Kansas City area. My brother is just north in Iowa and he has a stroked '68. We need to get together some time to drive the crapola out of our cars. I also own a '72 240Z. Enjoy!!!!!!!

Lonny,

There are many of us who also own other datsuns as it must be some kind of affliction :) welcome to the group! this is a good bunch with lots of good information.

I will say from what I have learned that a roadster is significantly different from the Z's and 510's I have owned in the past. It is a rewarding challenge as I really enjoy my roadster!

You guys are in BBQ country so a Datsun get together sounds like the plan to have! Take some pics if you do it.
