Can't seem to upload avatar

The file is a 100X100 .gif file which weighs in at 8k. In my profile page there is a 'choose file" button, but no 'upload' button. is that right? anyway, after choosing the file, and clicking on 'submit' it doesn't update. And I've lost Lance Link
