I just recwived my 280z master cylinder and am thinking.... can i use the pice that connects to the pedel from my roadster or do i need the pice from the z ( witch I did not get) the 240 has a cone insert and the roadster has a half circle. If any has done this can you please let me know what pices I need to put this new master cylinder in my ride. Thanks

I don't know if a 280Z master will work. I do know that the 240z clutch master will work if you swap the actuator for the pedal (the 240z one is too long) I don't know about using the brake master. It might work, it might not.
Good luck,
Will

The early 280Z will work. I seen it doen on a very popular KA24DET conversion webpage. It is recommended especially with the 4 piston Volvo calipers becuase they pump more fluid to the font brakes for more braking power... Thestock calipers have 2 pistons.
You will need to use the Roadster's plunger.
It will however be too long and have clearance issues with the stock air assemby.
I don't know if the dual Solex carbs will have clearance issue though.
got it ,, sort of

The arm connects into the 280z perfect. BUT as in the last reply, how worried should I be with more pressure to the stock calipers. I would figgure I would get better stopping with ths stock as long as they can handle the added pressure. till I can get the volvo calipers.

That I don't know.
You will need to get that answer from a 280 Master stock caliper person.

The Z master has a larger piston which means it flows more oil at less pressure than the stock master. So you will need to press the brake pedal harder for the same braking...
