newby here

Post by freaky510 »

he all i am a newby here in the 311 world i have recently purchased a 1970 spl 311 the car came from Texas seamed to be pretty solid. Its really not to bad they flared the rear wheels (did a botch job) they looked okay. So any way i started sanding it to paint it. I found a crack in what i thought was paint it ended up it was bondo i was scared sanded a little more and here comes the..... water? yes..WATER nnnnooooo so it took a knife and slid the whole blade into the flare gave it a little pull and poped off a 1lbs. chunk of bondo so i sat back and looked at my investment and shedded a tear. Sucked it up got back to work a month later i have 15 lbs. of bondo taken off of the rear of the car to just behind the front lip.who ever did this should be shot.if you cant do body work DONT you will mess up more that you fix.I also want to apologize to any one i piss off i advance(except hainz) iam a 510 owner and have been into Datsun for about 5 years right now i am working on the 311 and looking for any advice on making a 1600 stroker i have a buddy who works for a forklift company that services Nissan forklifts.(yea for me)I will post some pics soon but hi all and lets keep these datsuns running

its mine and i will break it!

No worries. The L Motor God doesn't hang here.

Welcome to the Looney Bin. Not as freewheeling as Ratsun.net, but fun nonetheless. And, amazingly, some of these roadster folks actually -DRIVE- 'em!

hey what are the chances of finding the original owner or a previous owner of a car on a forum. The Roadster i purchased came trough a buddy.I live in Washington and the car came from Texas. The previous owner started to strip the car and the stopped money or time more than likely. What i would like to know is what has been done besides the obvious.i have the title for the car and if anybody knows or can tell me were to go (besides hell its to cold) that would be great and if you are or you know

Sally Boothe or a Tony Boothe from Van Alstyne Tx please pm me i have your Roadster

Welcome to the nut house, it is a little crazy here. There are many of us who own multiple datsuns and not just ones with 1600's or 2000's.

Good luck with your project, as it sounds like you have your hands full.

Best,

Ron
