KA clearances

Just started my KA swap, and I have a couple of questions for the experienced few. I built my transmission mount so that the mounting pad on the tranny is parrallel to the crossmember. I hope that this is correct, as that is what I am basing the angle of the engine on. The bottom of the pan seems to be horizontal, so I assume it's right.
I'm also wondering about the height of the front of the engine. I put about a 1/4 inch spacer under the pulley on top of the front crossmember, but I'm thinking that I need more. How much space is possible with the hood clearance, driveline angle etc. ? I'm also concerned about clearance between the throttle cable cam on the throttle body and the body rail on the passenger's side. I am going to use stock rubber motor mounts (new ones of course) on the front of the engine like Dan's and I want to make sure that I have enough room for engine movement. Does anyone have experience with stock rubber mounts on a KA, or should I fork out the dough for urethane mounts?
I'm sure I'll have lot's more questions before this is over, but the information on this forum has already helped a lot.
Thanks
glenn
