Is there supposed to be one?

I see a welded nut hole attached to an L-Brace on the exhaust manifold that situated right smack dab next to the Alternator.

I can't find it my parts bin, nor have I ever seen on up for bid on EBay. I don't remember any illustration of it in any literature or illustrastion.

The brace mount that you see on the manifold is for a manifold brace and heat shield, but not for the alternator. The heat shield is designed to prevent the oil pan gasket and the motor mount from being cooked.

If you really want the part numbers, let me know and I can dig them up.

The brace part number is 14066-25601 and the heat shield is 14041-25601.

Hey Sid...

Are you sure the heat sheild is 14041-25601? Can you check it again for me, thanks?

An EBay listing this last weekend had an item with the same numbers on the package, but it was for the Solex carb-to-manifold insulators...

The only thing I got left is this piece, some wiring, and moving the battery to trunk before trying to starting this baby up!!!

Minh,

Glad to help! The parts book is fraught with errors. I would not consider any of it carved in stone unless you order the part and get the right thing. Unfortunately I don't know of anyone documenting the errors for the rest of us.

If they come in right, let me know. I need them as well...

Will do Sid...

Here are some more parts numbers.
Non-Smog U20 SU carb needles (NC17) - #16354-25611
U20 Radiator Cap - #214-16300

Steve, can you put this info where you think it belongs.

Thanks...

Did it again, forgot to login.

Sorry, it's N-17 - not NC17. Typo

Bad news... can't get it. It's a discontinued. :(

Wish I knew what it looked like. I'd make my own.
