Just got word that one of Turbo Tom's old boosted L-series engines is alive and will hopefully be dyno'd this afternoon!

Should be ready for the show this weekend so I'll take pics of the setup.

Will do! Car will be at the show tomorrow and I should have video.
Might be able to to drive it myself too!

I doubt you'll want to duplicate the setup as it has blown up before

A turbo L20 is super cool. Those are some impressive #s. If I had a 510, I'd be all over doing something like that. I have only seen 1 other turboed L series in a 510.

In my late teens, I bought and sold more than a few cars. One of the cars I had was a flared 510. When I bought the motor was already out, but what had been removed was a turboed L16. I was told the motor didn't really run right, but the guy had fabbed all the piping himself, and the turbo was from a Volvo. That motor is probably still sitting on a ranch near Santa Cruz.

Other odd features of that car: The car was completely rewired in 14g red wire. All the wiring ran into a black box between the seats with 9 or 12 switches on it. When it worked, you could turn off the tailights and other James Bond like stuff. Also, the guy had installed pop rivets randomly all over the car. Just drilled a hole on an inner fender and put in a pop rivet. There was probably 500 pop rivets around the engine compartment and trunk. The dashboard was replaced with sold piece of oak, with about 16 autometer gauges in it. You'd know what your rear diff temp was. It was actually a really nice car, that had been taken apart when I tried to rescue it, but never got back together.

It has water injection!
Did you notice the "half" Holley? The double interfered with the radiator so it was cut in half!
The exhaust is cool, full 3" out the side:

Yeah thats what I'm talking about! If it had a mega-squirt FI system it would be seriously bad a$$. The carb is super cool, but to get it to really run correctly, it would benifit from FI. My hats off to who ever got that to go, turboing a carbed engine is really hard.
Does it use straight water injection, or does it run a water alcahol mix? ADI (Anti-Detonation Injection) is cool be it on a raced out P51 mustang or a turbo L20B.

Will, there were 2 Alfas at the show that reminded me of you.
One was a red GTV, lowered with black/gunmetal mult-hole steel? wheels and yellow tape on the headlights....very slick.
Another was this Alfa wagon!!!
