Hi - newbie here

Post by georgia »

Just wanted to say hello. My sweetie and I have a 1696 (oops, make that a 1969!) Datsun 1600 that he had intended to fix up for my son. We are self-employed, and have converted the garage into an office, and when business picked up substantially ( :P ), we had to move the Datsun out to make room for a lab, so he finally decided he had to sell it. I thought that this might be the place to find a good and loving home for it.

I should have introduced myself earlier, but I'm sorta new to forums and blew the protocol. I apologize. Meanwhile, if anyone is interested in this baby, it is listed under the for sale category as a 1969 Datsun 1600.

Thanks,
-georgia

We do not have a lot of protocol so you are okay. Sure you do not want to keep it and join the rest of us roadster fanatics? It does not sound like it is drivable. I guarantee if you took it for a spin you would be hooked. Maybe some one close to you can give it a good home. You are in the land of SEROC one of the biggest roadster clubs around.

We'd love to be able to keep it but it just doesn't fit into our world at this point, so yes, we reluctantly have to sell it. Thanks for the tip about SEROC.

BTW, my ex husband (long ago exhusband!) had a Datsun B210 in the mid-70s. You couldn't kill that thing - he ran it completely and totally out of oil at least 3 times - made lots of clunking noises, but it just kept going and when we addded oil, all was well. They are spectacularly well made cars.
