Is the route the same where we meet up in pasadena?

Yep! the start is the same. If our map-ster has a different route after Angeles Crest, then so-be-it, but the start is the same.
I don't remember when I left OC the last time, I only remember I was one of the 'late ones'.
7:30 AM
Depart Shell [4530 Angeles Crest Hwy, La Canada Flintridge, CA 91011, (818) 790-3836] on SR-2 [Angeles Crest Hwy]

Guys,
I'm a little concern about going that far, 250 miles one way or round?
I never drove my roadster this far and concern if it gonna make it that far.
AAA said I only can tow up to 100 miles max, can we stay within 100 mile range?
Steve,
Now you are committed to tune my car, see you on Saturday.

250 one way, well, a loop

Vinh,
it's a big loop, so you are within the 100 mile range pretty much the whole way. there are lots of 'cut-off and go home' locations.
most concern is cooling system, as it'll be hot in Taft and on 133 (right #) on the way back.
I would say start working your way up to speed. If you can drive 30 minutes at 70 mph, plus can sit it stop-n-go traffic for 30 minutes, you will be fine. Only thing this pushes is brakes, and you can always take a break and let them (and you!) cool down.
Make sure you bring a cell, so we can keep in touch. You'll have a blast, and learn more about car capabilities, with happy mechanic hands available, thru-out the day.

I think my cooling system is good steady between 185-195 degree. I have been driving from LA to Irvine few times already with no problem so far.
Well, now I’m convinced I guess I will join you guy with this run. See you guy soon.
Excessive gas consumption…..Perhaps it is due to a large crack across the exhaust manifold, can anyone confirm this? does anyone have one for sale? I want to fix it before the run 6/16/07.
I will post this on the wanted list.

Hey guys. I'd like to attend but I have a previous engagement scheduled. I would like to drive out to the California Speedway the next Saturday or Sunday for Roadster racing. Anyone else?
Also this Saturday at El Monte Airport, free car show from 4-7. I went last week to scope it out, mostly 60's American Muscle, but our cars are welcome also. Any interest? Good cafe there as well to get some eats.

How about a couple of OC newbies joining ya? I don't know about having an iron butt, but, I know what sounds like a good time. '68 1600

Victor,
I think it’s time for me to come out from the cave that I have been hiding for so long and meet you guys and SoCalRoc.
Old lady was tuned this past weekend and I think she is already.
Since we live so close should we meet up and caravan?

The more the merrier! Even if you don't carve the canyons, the scenery is worth the drive and even better with group.
Vinh, did setting the point gap and valve job help with the turbo lag?
I found that one of my Yoko's has a corded flat spot. I ordered a set of rt-615's through discountire direct. Hopefully they'll arrive before the weekend!

Steve,
Yesterday I replaced vacuum advance, tuned carbs, timing and point gap all does not change anything since you left.
No valve job yet because I couldn’t find my feeler gauge.
Thanks for coming by this past Saturday, I really appreciated the help.

Hello all,
I might have to bow out of this saturdays run, I was doing a walk about check around my car today and found a crack and bulge in my clutch slave hose. She looks ready to blow and I don't think I'll be able to get another one in time.

SO Ferg.. Are we sticking to the same route? Vinh, I got a guage and can adjust valves pretty quickly. Roll Call?
Who's in?
