Hi everyone .. if you are after an option to chrome plating .. try fantachrome .. its actually a paint on system that can coat anything . If you had dents in your bumper bar for example , just use body filler to fill them , smooth off and fantacrome the whole thing !

That's what I did! I found a guy who machines custom rims at home as a business. I asked where he goes for chroming...

I also am going with a bunch of other people as a group discount. The shop will give you the 30% discount if you can get enough volume.

The Fantachrome sounds like a nice idea to compare the cost. You have doit yourself of course.

I contacted the Australian distributor (in Perth) they are in the process of setting up some suppliers in Sydney now .. They said they will e-mail me when they have a list of active outlets . As this is a 4 stage industrial process (not a single spray can) I guess it takes some time to set up end suppliers .. it is also new to Australia http://www.fantachrome.com.au/

If anyone is interested in electroplating anything, I found a company that sells kits and supplies. Gold, silver, chrome...if it has anything to do with plating, they have it. Unfotunately, it seems too expensive to electroplate anything very large. I think they still offer a free catalog. http://www.caswellplating.com
