Our 1966 Datsun 1600

Post by Datsa 66 »

Hello everyone, this is Andrew and Shari!

We are the proud new owners of Datsa - a 1966 1600 with VIN# SPL311-01013.

We bought the car on February 18th, 2007 and already she is a member of the family. The car is in nice daily driver condition and needs just a few things to finish her off.

The car was restored by the P.O. in the late 90s. White with tan interior, she has good power and the transmission is excellent. She has some rather interesting configurations under the hood but it all seems to be working fine.

She's got a little oil leak - the P.O. was up front about that. We think it is at the base of the distributor which will be addressed when we put in the Gary Boone EI dizzy.

Here is a link to some pics:

We have already registered for Solvang and will see everyone there!

Another car with a body colored dashboard, Very nice. It makes the car look like it's alot older. Have to get some photos of the "interesting" underhood stuff, now I"m curious. Overall, looks like a very nice car.
