1st NY, NJ, CT Datsun Roadster Meet.

The 1st NY, NJ, CT Datsun Roadster Meet will be held Saturday May 19 , from 12 noon to 6 pm. The event will be held at the Captain Lawrence Brewing Company , Pleasantville , New York 10570. Link to the brewery website and directions below.

The event is open to all Datsun Roadsters, including 510s and Z cars and is not limited to Datsuns from the Tri State area. There is an open invitation all DRONE and MADROC members, in addition to anyone who would like to make the drive and attend. For those who do not have a running Roadster please consider attending, this will be a great opportunity to get good mechanical advice and meet your fellow Datsun owners.

As this is the first year of this event , and we are not sure of how many cars will attend, there will be not be any judging, competition or entry fee. We will have windshield placard's for all cars to list their particulars.

The Captain Lawrence Brewery is owned by my son and may 19 will be the 2nd anniversary of the Brewery opening. There will be beer , a barbeque and live music through out the day. ( there maybe/will be an small charge for the barbeque, he's not sure yet ).

A note to those considering attending and to those who have projects they are working on. I attended the 2005 Solvang show and the 2006 Mitty at Road Atlanta For me, by attending Solvang, and seeing some of the most beautifully restored Roadsters , it gave me the kick in the pants I needed to finish the restoration of my 69-2000 ( still not complete , but its been on the road for 2 years now ). I also met some great people in Solvang and made quite a few new friends. The Mitty was also a great time , I got to see more great Roadsters, 510s , Z cars , two Silvas and a vintage race with two Roadsters. Again, I met some great people and made more new Roadster friends.

So, lets start something new on the East coast, please consider attending.

OK, I looked at the web site, and was inspired. OK, I'm plagerizing, but what about the Datsun Brew-haha..it's catchy.

Anyone else from MD planning on going? Hard part is already done, I have the blessing from the wife 8) Have to admit I am a bit hesitant about taking the Beast that far, longest trip so far has been just shy of 3 hrs roundtrip, and this one looks like about 10 hrs roundtrip. Lost either the clutch Master or the clutch Slave Cylinder during that 3 hr trip. Still runs and shifts fine, just a whole lotta freeplay and pretty black fluid. :?

MUST...MAKE...TIME...TO...WORK...ON...CAR.....

Sid, you better fly into Newark, EWR, I don't drive to JFK for ANYONE. Or just fly to BWI and hitch hike with one of those Md guys.

Mark, Spare parts at my house and access to a trailer. 5 Roadster owners in 15 mile radius, so whatever breaks we are covered.

If a bunch of people are coming up from the south, I can set up a pit stop/meeting point and have coffee/ bagels ready and waiting; then head up together. There are nicer ways to get ther than Mapquest will give you. Roadsters and the Cross Bronx Expressway are a bad mix.
My Wife and Bill K's Wife may chicken out and drive up in the pickup, so we may have a support (tow) vehicle.
