That time is fast approaching! The Mitty will be here before you know it. Here is a link to the official website
http://www.TheMitty.com so you can keep up to date on the details. Not that Tom Phelan's Roadster is in the photos that they decided to use! Sweet!!
Who is going? Who plans to camp? Does anyone know if there are electrical outlets anywhere there??

I am going and camping. There are electrical outlets in the bathrooms. It is common for turn 5 campers to run extension cords to their camp.
One thing I didn't know about last year was that you could drive the track at speed. I did this for the first time at the SVRA race last fall. I expected the usual track tour with minimal speed. I was suprised when the lead car took off and I had to push my car to keep up with traffic. What a rush headed into 10A the first time at 95 and picking a braking point. The Mustang GT in front of me would leave me behind on the straights but by turn 7 I'd be on his bumper. The GT behind was the opposite, I'd leave him in the turns, he'd catch me at the end of the straights. I have a 2liter solex with azenis 615s front, old azenis 502s rear and stock suspension. I also had a passenger and trunk full of camping gear and tools. The rear was breaking loose coming out of 3,5,6,7 and 10B on the first laps. By the last laps it was much smoother. It cost $35 and was worth every penny.

Where do the Roadster guys camp? I am electrically dependent, so I need to be near a power source if at all possible. If I can find a trailer, I can make due with the F250 and an inverter.
Maybe I need to bring the 2000 if going fast is a possibility!

Most of the roadster guys camp between turn 9 and turn 5 next to the road. You can setup a trailer right by the turn 5 bathroom. There is good flat areas there and you can run an extention from the bathroom to the trailer. That is close to the roadster camps. There is room there if all the roadsters choose to camp there.
There are also hook up's outside the back straight between turn 8 and turn 9. I don't remember seeing them in use during the Mitty. You could check with Road Atlanta.

Wow, I would really like to make it out to the Mitty...The east coast has the best events....
I will be pulling for Tom, glad to see his car on several photos promoting the race.
I met Tom several years ago, when he came out to the west coast and raced his roadster.
Tom is an accomplished driver and races a very well turned out roadster.

Just noticed that nobody has mentioned the auction that Mike Harper is putting on.

I don't want anything to get lost in translation so visit the site for info. Mike has some nice cars up for auction and even has his '68 2000 on the block. I have no affiliation with the auction.
