Hey guys the itch is here and i need for it to be scratched!

I was wondering if anyone knew someone locally (L.A/SD county) that does engine swaps. Im talking about a drive in drive out sort of deal. Well thanks in advance to all that reply.....all these threads about swaps have gotten me salivating!

Even if you have a shop handle your swap with a 'turn-key' deal, there are so many variabilities that you will need to be involved.
In Azuza, give a call to schrader's speed shop. They have built a few Datsun Roadsters.

After been driving a front wheel drive sr20 sentra, I can now see why they put sr20's on roadsters. Fun and very quick.
Rick, what engine you gonna throw in there?

Yeah, I did do something to the stock diff. I shot bits and pieces of it all over the road. Ok, it's wasn't
that bad. I did manage to destroy the pinion, the spider gears, some bearings, etc. $800 later it was rebuilt with all new parts. 3 years later it's still holding together...BUT... I never beat on the thing. No burn outs, no drag racing, no fun. It will handle the power OK for just cruising around and doing some "spirited" acceleration runs on the freeway. That's about all I trust it for.
I have no doubt that if I took it out to the track and handed the keys to Alvin it would come back in pieces. If you want to do any sort of serious track driving or even hard street driving, I'm confident the stock diff will give up once you start getting above 175 - 200 lb-ft torque at the rear wheels, maybe sooner.
