Victory

Managed my first class win in CSP at the SCCA CFR event today. I was about 1 second behind the same guy who beat me last time out but I had a secret weapon. Elliot Harvey, who's been giving me some pointers was gridded right next to me and gave me a little insite into how "the back end will be dancing" if you're going fast. Given that little pearl of wisdom and a better feel for how much grip the Hoosier's have this time around I was able to take FULLY 1.5 SECONDS off on my next run. Ended up the moring with a 44.004 about 3 tenth's in front. The MR2's were a little faster in the afternoon but I was able to chip away some more time by not braking quite as much in a couple of spots and wound up with a best time of 43.287 or something, 4 tenth's in front of the first MR2. The spread from first to third was only 6 tenth's so it was very competitive all day.
Lots of fun and a trophy. I'm gettin' there.

That is great to hear Brian. Kicking some _ss with the old roadster heh! Yep, those Hoosier's are some sticky little guys once they are warmed up. Sounds like you are having a lot of fun. Your next set of Hoosier's will cost you about twice what you paid but thay are worth the sticker price. :D Keep us posted on the fun you are having.

I'm looking to flair out the rear a bit and put 225's on it. That's what the Harvey's and Gary Boone too are running. If I get the heat cycled ones, each tire will cost as much as this whole set. I plan on keeping an eye out for used ones. As is, what I've got on it is at least competitive in the division. It feels good to win the class in your 11th event. I don't think I'll get enough events in to qualify for year end trophies but next year I'll be looking to win the class in the region.
