Where do you buy automotive wire?

Post by ppeters914 »

I have quite a bit of re-wiring projects on the roadster and PL411, and I'd like to match the original wire color-coding, if possible. I found several online sources of solid colors, but nothing like white w/ red, blue w/ black, etc.

Does anyone know where to buy multi-colored automotive wire (XGA and/or GLX)?

Thanks.
Pete

OUCH! That definitely ain't cheap, but the sticker shock isn't so bad after pricing roadster brake parts. :P

The other lead (pun intended) I was given is Anixter Wire & Cable:

Not sure if you will match colours with the original. I have gone to the wreckers here and stripped out the entire wiring harness from a car (Sentra), with the connectors/relays and fusebox for about $35.

A large car with lots of gadgets will get you lots of different colored wires with good lengths.

Stripping it out of the car, then pulling the harness apart is a major pain, but the price was right.

Cheers
