1600 rear brake shoes

I bought brake shoes from my local Autozone per the 311 parts interchangeability list. The shoes are close but, physically too small. With the adjuster turned all the way in, I can still turn the drum. I compared them to a set I removed from a parts car and discovered the difference.
Would like to hear from anyone who can help.

Try taking them back and getting a set for a 240Z as they use the same rear drums as a late roadser. If the part number matches, there is a problem (on there end).

I would like to hear more about this so if there is a problem the interchangeability list I can fix it. Which shoes did you supposedly get that do not work? I know for a fact the early 510 shoes work as that is all I use.

I returned the brake shoes today. They were Beck/Arnley part #081-0218. The Autozone computer showed this part # for the 240Z. I checked the 510, and that produced part #081-0192. I pick those up Wednesday.
I have also found that Autozone engine part #'s are actually for the L engine. ie: valve cover gasket, fuel pump

Thanks for the help.

The thing we must remember is that we are dealing with a car that may as well not exsist. The R16 is far more common than U20, however neither one is any near as common as an L series. The other parts tend to be the same way. :( . The brake shoe issue is strange, but not unlikely.

Just my $.02

Beck/Arnley part#081-0192 is the correct shoe for the rear.
Thanks.

If the rear shoes interchange with the 510. Does that mean the wheel cylinders, drums, and adjuster's are interchangeable too?

B/A part #081-0192 is for the roadster. The shoes listed for the Z were too small. I arrived at the correct shoes by ordering the ones for the 510 as suggested.

As far as the other brake parts interchanging, I'm not sure. This roadster I'm putting together is my first experience with older Datsun's. I would think the drums would interchange as long as the lug pattern is the same.

Thanks.
