Well after reading some wheel posts I am still not sure about the best wheel fitment for my car. I have some Z wheels, not sure off of which Z, 14 x6, (inner width, also marked on backside of rim) with a 4 inch back space(edge if inner lip to bolt up face). The outer width is 6.75 I believe, (have to recheck). They are 4 on 4.5 and the bare rims on the hubs will spin and clear. I think though that they will have a negative offset? and that will be a problem (6.75/2=3.375-4.0=-0.625= -15.8?) My tires are 175/70/14.
These rims also need a special lug as the holes are bigger, a Rota lug?
Anyway, I like them but they need to fit! The springs are stock and the fenders are not rolled. Any thoughts?

I’m currently running a set of Z wheels, with 195 60 14 tires with no rubbing issue….. they are the 6 spoke type from 81 to 83 Datsun 280z
It tucks in the fender nicely.

Just to clarify, the ZX wheels, Like Vinhs, which came in a couple of styles (6 spoke and Iron Cross are the common names), were 14 X 6 with a +12 offset. There was the ZX turbo wheels (AKA Swastickas), which were 15X 6 +12. These are a very safe fittment for the roadster. They do require special lug nuts which have a wider shank that most other "mag" style lugt nuts - .73 as opposed to .68

Thanks, Victor for the lug size info. Does it sound like the wheels will fit based on the info given or is it just a process of trial and error ?

They should fit. I can't see why they wouldn't, unless your trying for a 225 70 tire (Huge)

Yes, I swipped that photo from wheelcomponents.com. I ordered a set a while back JUST IN CASE I might buy a set of ZX wheels. I buy a lot o crap for "just in case". Many have bought these and have complained that the chrome is totally soft and flakes off quickly. That may be. I know for a fact that the set that Steve B. uses on his flat black stroker has not one bit of chrome left.

That's a shame, cause I haven't found another source for these ANYWHERE with 7/16 X 20 thread. At least they aren't that costly.

One really positive thing about the ZX wheels is the alloy that Nissan used really takes an amazing polish! If you take them to a buffing shop, they come back like mirrors.

Thanks for info. I will order the lugs and hope for the best. Just want some wheels that look better than the stock rims.

Found this post for this rim manufacturer:

I finally found the right lug nuts on Ebay. Just for future information, they are called Roto Lugs, and they were made specifically for Appliance wheels. They are available with offset or centered washers. Thanks for all the input.

Well the boys down at Chatswoth Tire said that the regular 7/16" lugs from Autozone etc would not work because the wheel holes are bigger and so as I posted above quoting Glenn Huff, I probably need the Roto lugs, something like this:

Not sure if these lugs are similar to what Victor mentioned. I will try to find out!

Yep, I had a similar experience with some center caps from them fellers. anyway, moving on.

Victor, lets find some thin cloth (felt/chamois) and line the lug wrench with it. it'll distribute the load and the plating will survive, well, survive better. (same theory behind "soft jaws" in a lathe)
Or you could ask the plater if something (like post-curing?) would help. I suspect more heat will make plating more brittle!
