I was talking with Tim Miner(my dad) recently when he got back yesterday and we wer talking anyways he visited tom drake and he just recently got a 67.5 1600. Then my Tim said "Since there are no more 67.5 2000 we should make our own model a 2000 s or 2000 stroker." Anyways i wanted to know what you guys thought before i stroke mine.

Will,
Are you talking a 1600 stroker? If you want a 2000, save the effort and get a U20. If you are trying to stroke a U20, that is a different creature all together. Stroking a U20 aparently can be done, however it requires a ton of fabrication on the pistons. You could bore the block and get the same displacement. There are U20s powering race cars that run faster than the Speed World Challenge cars back east (a lot faster on the same courses). The U20 will almost bolt right in (needs a different driveshaft and transmission mount.) Since you have a 67.5 1600, thats all you need.

Sorry, I find modern engine swaps revolting. Keep your G, R, or U series in your Roadster!

I'll be starting my stroker project this year as well.
It all depends on why you bought a 67.5. Is it for it's rarity?, if so you may not want to. I'd stroke it rather than drop in a U20. It would still look stock and the numbers would still be matching if it was that way to begin with.
Personally, my motivation would be the look of the low windshield and flat dash, while having the power of the U-20.

I'm just finishing my 67.5 stroker and I LIKE it! I could have just gone with the U20, but after it's all said and done I can rebuild the whole thing for under $400.00. It pulls like a beast and i can't wait to get the 5-speed behind it. I run out of gears way to fast right now.

I also have a half year 1600 and am planning on stroking it but probably wont get to it this year as I bought a 69 2000 for my wife this week. It would definately be a cool class to be in at solvang.

Will,
Do you want a REAL 67.5 2000? If so, why not find one of the rust buckets and rebody it with your 67.5 1600 body? The only body differences were the holes for the license trim. Easy to do! Heck, the only frame differences were the VIN numbers...
