Tube chassis for a Roadster....

Post by spl310 »

There is a lot of interest in engine swaps and the like for Roadsters. I am surprised that not many folks seem to have much interest in a tube chassis for a Roadster - even though there are some out there that are almost a dead match! Check out the dimensions of a 90" wheelbase Cobra replica chassis - not the Factory Five type with the birdcage, but more like the Everett Morrison chassis. They use Mustang 2 parts (WIDELY available with different length A arms, drop or lift spindles, and all sorts of brake options.) I would dare say that by shopping for parts alone, you could build a chassis that would go under a Roadster work great. Just an idea for those of that interest...

when my dad was wanting to build a tube car i was tryin to talk him into buildin a chromoly chassis for a roadster and order some fiberglass body parts. The engine would be the 388 stroker we have, around 750hp. BUT, he decided to build that 540ci motor and put it in the stock suspension camaro.... oh well
