My driver's door has what looks like either a cut or a split next to where the side mirror was located. Is this common and, if so, what causes it?

I've seen it quite a bit.
I think it comes from the vent windows. If anything pulls or pushes on the window it creates stress on the door at that point.

I bought the Hobart 500495 Hnandler 125 MIG. I hope this will be a good upgrade from the Lincoln 225 AC/DC Stick Welder.
I mainly picked this one because it is portable and can run on house current. And if I find a cheap argon tank somewhere, it'll be true MIG and even some TiG, if I need it.
