help pulling apart the steering column from steering box

help pulling apart the steering column from steering box
I am pulling off the body of my 67.5 and the last thing I need to do is pull apart the steering column from the steering box. Any suggestions on how to do this without damaging anything? I pulled the screw from the spline and tried to pull it out of the fitting before the u-joint but nothing happened. Is there anything under the dash that needs to be removed?
