Twin pipe resonator
Was the twin pipe resonator original equipment or offered by Nissan as an option? I have one and am wondering whether I should put them on the car when I get the exhuast redone.

The twin tip resonator was OEM on all 1500s, 1600s through some time in the 67.5 model year, and on the first handfull of 2000s. They are a pox on the car and cause all sorts of problems such as demonic possession. Just carefully package it up and send it to me and I will put it to it's proper use...
All kidding aside, your car should have it. Put it on and enjoy that original look and sound!

The twin pipes look and sound horrible. You should not keep them anywhere near your car.
I know Sid said he would take care of them for you, but I am of the opinion that he lives too close to you & they may find their way back & corrupt your car. As such, I am prepared to look after them for you so you don't have any issues. I would even pay for them to be shipped to Australia, that's how much of a friend I am.

Hey Ruth,
I have one that I would be willing to send you. It is used and I'd have to dig it out to apraise the exact condition. One catch, how close do you live to the ocean? My sister collects beach sand and she would love to have some from down under. A couple hundred grams along with a description of where it came from would do it.
The things I do for my baby sister.

Hang on just a minute Ruth, he's trying to rip you off! Everybody knows that a few hundred grams of genuine Australian beach sand is worth heaps more than some dodgy old datsun muffler. Make sure he throws in some new everwing fog lamps, some quarter window latches, a couple of H190 LSD's and a UY cylinder head to even things up a bit.

I sure hope my sister appreciates this. BTW, this is a seroious offer. I've only got one muffler but I would appreciate beach sand from different places. A description of the beach where it came from so it can be properly cataloged is important also. She has a bit of a collection and it is amazing how different sand from various locations is.

Maybe I can get in on this?...
A bucket of sand from St.Kilda Beach in Melbourne for anyone who wants to give me some quarter window latches and/or some soft top latches for a 1965 SP311.
Alternatively, if you're a surf nut or a fan of bad Keanu Reeves films, I can make it a bucket of sand from Bells Beach if you prefer.

I also had somebody pry open the glove box on a roadster I had in the seventies. I had the soft top on it and the jerk broke out the passenger side wing window, broke the center console (which wasn't locked) and pried open the glove box. He/she/it didn't get a thing either... America's dumbest crook? All quarter window latches are. That's what people break trying to break into these cars. Not sure why but they do. Then they break the center console latch and usually end up with nothing to show for it.
