Caltex Techron Fuel

Post by project_timemachine »

Has anyone used Caltex Techron fuel on their R16 1600? I'm wondering if it's safe for the engine especially for the soft valve seats... Thanks.

I dont know about the caltex, but i like to run VP red 105 octane with low lead in my 2000 and its a whole new car. I dont think my wife is happy about my tearing around at $6.50 per gallon though. I do love the look she gives me when I am draining our bank account for the roadster and I tell her Ive almost got everything I need now  . We are almost to the dont ask, dont tell stage of the roadster obsession.

WOW! That's quite a fuel you're using! That's going to be a real drain on my finances if we have that kind of gas! But I won't tell my parents...I'm also at the "don't ask, don't tell" stage of roadster addiction! What's worse...there's still a lot of body work to be done and a new strip to metal paint job for my roadster...I'm almost half done using up my life savings! Is there a way to beat the ROADSTER ADDICTION??? HELP!

I've hit the "50% rule" stage in my roadster obsession/relationship. Since my girlfriend and I have separate accounts it's much easier to hide the dollars than it is for the married folks. However, since we share expenses, I'm still somewhat accountable. So, I adopted the 50% rule. Whenever I roll through the door with an exciting new part and I get asked how much it was, I always tell her it cost 50% what it actually cost. Works pretty well as long as she doesn't find the receipts!
