Roadster Animated GIF

Post by futuredeadguy »

Hello All:

I'm posting an animated GIF I did based on the CAD drawings I did of my Roadster last week. This file is public domain, use it if you can.

Yeah, I know it has no driver, but you don't want my mug in there anyway.

Can probably put that together. Slotted mags are already drawn on the 280z cad files. Gimme a couple days to make 'em spin on an orange roadster.

Hey Jim,

I mainly asked as a joke, but now that you have offered, I won't say no thanks!

If we really wanted to burn some time on the PC, I could render it in 3D...But then again, the video game guys have already done a damn good job of it! TR

This could be the beginning of a "how do those wheels look" program, like Tire Rack.

No Prob, TR.

It'll take me about 30 minutes to do it. I don't mind and I'll enjoy it.

Wish I had the 3D capability. Some of the guys in my office have Hollywood quality 3d abilities. I'm the old school guy now.

I used to complain that my first bosses couldn't do cad and they didn't understand the complexity of most of their requests. Now the new guys complain about my lack of understanding of the 3d programs. Go figure.

I'm rebuilding my soft top this weekend (taking Monday off). As soon as that's done, I'll get a new GIF posted.

If you want a really powerful program for 3D mechanical design (not so much for Hollywood stuff), try Solidworks. Super easy to learn and you are allowed to install one license at work and home...

Good luck with the softop! TR

Will try to get to it on my next Monday off - which will probably be awhile. Screws are tightening again at work. I worked EVERY day in Feb without a break.

I had a blast today messing with the car. I need to do it more often. I forgot what a day off is. I felt guilty the whole time.
