How to read dipstick markings on my 68 2000

I think I found the answer to this right before I posted. Going ahead with the post just to make sure I'm right. Just got my '68 2000 3.5 weeks ago. Checking the dipstick, I can't tell which one of the 3 marks is the full line. Owner's manual doesn't show anything. The engine had less than 100 miles on a complete rebuild when I bought the car. I've probably put another 200 miles on it. Looking at a dipstick for a roadster for sale on Ebay, it shows the same part number and the lowest mark is very clearly an 'L'. That leg evidently didn't get stamped well on my dipstick.
Ideas on how much oil it takes to go from the low to high mark? In my American made vehicles it was always 1 quart. Don't want to guess and end up overfilling it.
Otherwise, carry on! Thanks! Jim.
. So I'm low on oil. Glad I got the 10 quarts in this afternoon I ordered a couple days ago to have on hand!!!! If I'm wrong, please reply.
