Seat upholstery question

I'm ready to redo my seats (1970) and I'm looking at adding aftermarket seat heaters under the vinyl. I did it years ago on my brother's '67 Camaro and it was fantastic. Some of the units available are specifically for seats with vertical or horizontal bars in the upholstery.

Does anyone know if there are bars/wires in the installed Roadster upholstery, and if so, which way and where they run? Any info, pictures, diagrams, etc., would be appreciated.

Thanks!

On the replacement covers I used there aren't really any wires in the upholstery. There is a (one short) metal wire that runs side to side to provide the "tuck" in the middle of the seat bottom and seat back and there is a wire that runs around the lower edge of the seat bottom to allow you to bend the seat frame tabs onto the upholstery.

Erik,
I installed aftermarket seat heaters in my ‘69 seats when they were reupholstered. Joe is correct about metal wire placement. No issues what so ever. The heaters helped the remote the “whining” sound coming from passenger seat 😏. Also had heaters installed in the Miata seats that I’m currently using. FWIW. PAT

Thanks, Joe and Pat, for the info!

I'm going to do some measuring and then order some heaters.
