Hi all. Brand new to this forum or any forum in fact and have just purchased a 1966 SP311 Roadster way over in Australia. Can anyone help with the best literature I can get my hands on to learn everything about these cars. Specifically mechanical. Thanks in advance
Tooch

Re: SP311 Literature
The best source of information is right here on this forum. Just ask a question and usually someone here will come right back with a reliable answer. Be very weary of any information from Facebook, as there is a lot of erroneous information posted there. There are however some very knowledgeable participants on Facebook, you just have to learn who to trust. Now for literature, The Datsun Roadster Book by Scott Scheeler is probably the most comprehensive you will find. It is 3 volumes and a bit pricey though.

Re: SP311 Literature
Hi there
A very good reference for the history and lineage of these cars is "Fair Lady" by Phill Brook, a fellow Ozzie.

There are also books which have collected car reviews from motoring magazines of the day e.g. "Datsun Roadsters Performance Portfolio 1960-1971" by Brooklands books.

For the day to day technical questions, try and find the OEM Service Manual and Parts catalog.
Experience is the best teacher but as mentioned, there is a wealth of knowledge behind your keyboard on sites like this
I have scanned a copy of the "Sports 1600 Parts Catalog" Publication number C-034 if you need a copy
Where in SA are you?
