Pedal spacing

I did the “Wheeler Dealer” brake pedal bend right after the episode aired. I was able to get about an additional 1/2” of clearance between the brake and accelerator pedals. That half inch was a big help but not quite enough for my size 11 1/2 Wide clodhopper’s. You can bend the pedal more but then you get a funny angle on the foot pad so I stopped there. Since I was still having trouble coming into corners hot and catching the accelerator as I was trying for maximum braking, which causes a bit of a pucker factor, I decided a little more involved process was needed.
I bent the pedal as far as I thought I needed and then cut the foot pad off and welded it back on so that it would be parallel with the accelerator. I then bent the clutch pedal as far as I could without getting much of an angle on its foot pad. Haven’t driven it yet but just sitting in the car it feels much better.
