Classic car insurance options please

Hi. My 68 2000 is being delivered in 4 days. Looking for insurance options. Had what I felt was a fair quote from Hagerty at 428.00 for 12 months. Clicked on it to proceed and it changed to 561.00. Found 70.00 of that to be for joining a 'Gold club' which left it at 591.00. Can't find where the other 63.00 was added in or what it was for.
What are some other classic car insurance companies you would currently recommend? My other vehicle is through State Farm, but their quote made me rethink buying the car! Thanks! Jim

I have found Grundy to be a little less expensive than Hagerty. How many miles per year you drive can affect your rate.

I use Hagerty but I go through a rep, rather than online. It doesn't cost any more (and in fact can save money by not opting you in to "Gold Club" and crap like that), and if I ever need to file a claim, I have him in my corner to help me out. One thing he told me about that I didn't know of is Hagerty's "Cherished salvage program", where for a little more each month, if your special vehicle is considered totaled, not only do they pay you the full agreed value, but they give you the car back, too (with a salvage title). You can then decide to rebuild it, sell off all the good parts, or whatever you want.

I just renewed my 1969 2000 with Hagerty Ins.This is my 16th year with them. They put a $42,000 insurance value for it. Here in Colorado they have an mandatory uninsured motorist add here on also. This policy has Collision/Liability & No Deductible. It is garaged at all time and NOT a daily Driver. My Premiums for 12 months was $306.00. I've tried Grundy several times for an estimate but they were alway $100 plus more for the same cover. Good luck, definitely get a quote from Hagerty.

I have 2 roadsters, 510 2-door, 510 wagon and a 280Z all with American Collectors. I believe it depends on your area. In addition, for mine it also depends on your estimated car's value ------that you provide. FWIW I'm in Oregon - roadsters ($8000 and 12,000) 510's (30,000 and 12,000) 280z (19,000). My annual policy is $450.00 all cars. (I'm pretty sure I'm underestimating my 2-door and Z) But/and, it asks/requires each is driven less than 2-3K annually. And $500 deductible, this includes towing. I had these through Anon when I was with USAA and they are the same/affiliated now that I'm with State Farm. Dave
