How much is too much

Yes it is me again digging for more information.
I have scanned websites, spoken to enthusiasts and driven a car here and there and yes still questions persist.
I drove a 1970 1600 the other day. It was in good shape, basically stock in all aspects, but felt strong. Hadn't been driven seriously in a few years but had no problems. What do you think the price range would be on something of this nature?

Thanks again

What part of the US is it in? What does it need? Location and missing or damaged parts can really wreck the price. Does it have damage history?

If there was no more than minor wear, and it was complete (top, tonneau, boot, jack, spare, tool bag, etc) had not been modified, and looked good enough to go to the cruise in with pride, I would say that $4000 - 7000 is probably a reasonable range. If there was damage (rust, cracked dash, split upholstery, paint faded/chalking, crash damage - even if it was repaired but done poorly) that changes the picture.

To answer your first question - how much is too much? - that would be just enough that you don't buy it

It is in California. The car is complete. Only two owners. Has everything you mentioned except the tonneau.
No damage, no rust. The only thing that has been altered is the upholstery but it is in very good shape, no tears, cracks, anything.

Where are you located at roasterlover

They talk and they scream, but if you listen really closely - usually late at night while no one else is around - they will whisper their name to you so that you know what to call them.....

R.L.,
Look on ebay at the Sora Blue '69 2000. I have seen the car, and inspected it closely. The car needs nothing. The interior is sharp, as is the paint and chrome. It is located in Ca as well. If you are looking for a nice car that is resonably priced, this one is it.

The color of that car, is that an original color? Does the ebay sight do the color justice because it almost seems greenish?
What would the price range be on a car of that style, year etc...

The color is a light sky blue. The pictures do not do it justice. $6000 would not be too much to pay. It is an un touched 69 2000 that still has all of the smog equipment installed and running. I am told the car was owned by a retired man and was driven perhaps once a month. The mans wife was afraid of the car so he sold it. It was the '96 Solvang winner.

Is that a fair price or do you feel the price could be higher or lower?
Is there a general range for 1969 2000's?

I'd say it is a fair price, it could be higher, but 5-8 grand is about right for a car in that condition. 2 liter roadster prices are scattered all over. If I spent $8000 on the car, I would think I got a fair deal. As far as I could tell, the car needs nothing. The interior is like new, the top is like new, the paint is very nice, the engine has been sorted as well as the tranny.

I comes down to what the public wants to pay that week.
