At 400 hp, definitely not a diesel....

Toyota has a 300+ hp 3 cyl, 1600 cc, turbo engine in the GR Corrolla, sooo....gotta compete.
Also the same engine in a GR Yaris, at lower HP, that is not available in North America.

Can get way more torque than gas
I doubt the Horsepower guages
1 hp is one 1600 to 2000 lb draft horse
It started at county fair competitions
Such a horse could pull 1000lbs of water 33ft up a well in 1 min, 2 horses in 30 sec
In the 80s I drove a Audi 5000 turbo diesel ( working at a foreign car salvage yard I bought from them a 86 Subaru turbo xt for 4k he thru in the 5000 for1k )
Where the Sports stadiums traffic dumps out on a highway there's a long hill, with 2 lanes pack full of traffic I in the 5000 never think I lost to the top of the hill against a auto Trans ,I told this to some of the VW techs that worked at our dealership , 1 I put 75 series tires on it gearing up ,and 2 ,it was low on compression so it would start to Runaway /build up fuel , the turbo kicking in cleared that

1 hp is one mine pony not working very hard. Horsepower was initially devised to help decide how many mine ponys could be replaced. They worked at a pace they could sustain all day.
