ka24de swaped into 311 troubles

I swapped a 2004 ka24de into a 311 and I used the 2004 harness and ecu. I deleted the egr and gas vapor recirculation system and wiring. I kept the original instrument panel and gas pump. I also installed an intake manifold from a 240sx. The OBD is only showing codes for the egr PO444. The problem is that I can' get it to idle or run smoothly, I'm Thinking I need a different ecu (from the old 240sx maybe ?) or have my current ecu flashed or maybe get a megasquirt or ??? Any ideas from the group would be appreciated

The distance from the MAS to the throttle body needs to be managed, too close and it will cause turbulence issues and false readings. Give that a look.
Did the engine run well before the swap?

04 ,you can read live data on the scan tool a pro $$$$ one see where the TPS is ...injector milsec FI temp sender before swapping the ecu s
Might clean the throttle plate ,open it fully, spray cleaner on a wash cloth and wipe where the T plate closes

ADR, the distance between the maf and the TB is very short, about 5 inches, i'll try a different location, thanks
REDROADSTER, any recommendations on a scan tool, I am currently using TORQUE with limited tools

It's an important parameter. Read about it here:
https://teamcpp.com/2020/10/ls-maf-sens ... t-results/
Yes, it's for an LS swap, but the point is still valid.

That's really for the evap effect near a throttle plate ,which you'd need cold weather to affect , if the tps isn't set right it messes with idle if the air flow closed isn't the right cfm same ,the passages in the T plate clogged or filled with fluid mess up Idle
Check some bigger indep.shops that likely have a snap on that reads live data on injector time milisec , and TPS
you can read tps with a volt meter too the paper clip method ...here's a tip ,right before lunch find the tech that can help you have a premo sandwich ,see if he'd check it ..worked with me

Just my 2 cents.
I went with mega squirt for the Ka24de for a 98 240sx which allowed me to delete the MAF. I’m not at home but I can get more info later but it made my life easier.

Perfect! Glad that I could help. My debt to 311s.org is not paid back yet though! There are so many great team members here. Amazing....
