This will not be for everyone. I wanted an inexpensive hose I could walk into a most parts store and buy. I had downloaded a copy of the Gates hose catalog when I was looking for heater hoses. I started looking in there for a hose that might work for me. I have a later roadster lower hose on which doesn’t quite fit without twisting and such. I believe others have come up with something else to use.

I was getting ready to have my other radiator done. Found a hose in the catalog that might work. Compared it to the original hose I have. I took the original hose to the parts store to compare. I put the radiator in front of the engine on the stand.

Figured out if you turn the outlet about 45 degrees to the left the hose would work. Took an old radiator to the shop and had them turn it. It works and clears everything. Funny enough the hose is for a 1981 280ZX, Gates 21162. So if you have your radiator out and want to do it this is a simple mod.

You can also get an upper hose with the leftover. I goofed and cut it a bit long so the piece is short. You trim a half inch off the hook end and cut the other to length.

I should add I bought the hose from Home Depot and off Amazon. Parts store wanted more than double.

Curtis, I can't tell from the picture, how much clearance from the Steering U-Joint?

NEVERMIND, another photo shows plenty of room
