My softtop rear anchor blade has a slight knife edged section to correspond with teardrops. I’m assuming the cutout side slides under teardrop? So the blade should bow outward toward rear of car correct?

Yes, that outward bow keep the window tensioned. The cutouts work as "lead ins".
