I think it is the switch to check and make sure the brake system is functioning correctly... But I may be wrong since I have never had a high windshield car.

In my 1600 I used this swith as an electic fan overide. On my 2000 I use it as an ignition kill.

I never really got the point of this light...if you lose brake pressure, won't you know it when you press on the pedal?! :)

You know, when you take your eyes off the road you may see that light a whole lot faster than you think. Walk towards it and listen to the pretty music.

What it actually does is lights up if you have a pressure differance between the front and back brakes. Remember the late cars have a dual system. Your back brakes could go out and the fronts would work fine or the other way around. If both failed at the same time I don't think the light would turn on  but I'm sure you would notice. My 68 Dodge truck has the same thing.

All I can remember is 2 big dudes in a 1500 coming up behind me fast on a downhill at the Glen yelling "Drum Brakes, Drum Brakes!"

The "S" is the first letter of the next word out of your mouth when the pedal drops.
Kind of like an idiot light and a teleprompter all in one.
I use mine to turn the fuel pump on.

PO TOOK OUT THE BULB. I ASSUME BECAUSE IT STAYS ON ALL THE TIME (SWITCH ON OR OFF). I LOOKED AT THE MASTER CYL AND FOUND NO ELECTRICAL WIRES OR PLACE FOR THEM. COULD I HAVE A DIFFERENT MC OR AM I LOOKING IN THE WRONG PLACE FOR THE WIRING? THE BRAKES WORK FINE.
THANKS,
CARL
