4 speed transmission dimensions

Hey All,

Doing some preliminary research for my CA18 swap and I need to know what the overall length of the 1967.5 4 speed transmission front of bellhousing to tail, and also the distance between the front of the bell housing to the shifter linkage.

I have found everything but these two measurements...

And for fun, we did a 3D scan of the roadster engine bay and my CA-18DET motor and are playing with test fitting the motor and the 5 speed:

Nice scan. You should do the entire exterior and upload it :)

That should be a great engine.

So the biggest problem will probably be where the transmission mount sits. The X member frame not the tunnel is most often the problem. Back in the 80’s I built and helped build a few L series engines that went in roadsters. The biggest problems using the L series engines were with the X member and K member in the frame, as the car is body on frame design. I would have to cut a pocket in the K member for the oil pump to sit in and heavily modify the tail housing to clear the X member. Good luck, that engine should be a great power supply for a roadster.
