That's close: the LS1 made its debut in the 1997 C5, and it's a tube chassis.

A mix of C5/C6 parts with a boosted LS1. Tube chassis with Datsun panels attached to it. Enjoy!

LS1? So I guess it's a Datsun 5700 now. It may be a Datsun in body panels only, but at least it's not another Camaro, Corvette, or Mustang.
