Brake Master cylinder metal spacer

Hi- starting to redo my 69 2000. I’ve decided to go with a new 260z Brake Master Cylinder. Can I use the same metal spacer? It’s not a complete circle which seems odd to me.

Sound good. Someone with greater knowledge might/please correct me if/as necessary.

My 2cnts: As you may know, keep in mind to add the correct fittings to your OEM 3/16 lines might require adapter(s) for the Z Master. (I believe is metric).

The install will require placing the unit on the firewall then determining how much space you need for your rod (length) and pedal (travel) to fasten then work properly. The 1/2 circle or horseshoe shim(s) are designed so they can be added (slid in behind) with the unit in-place. This allows you to add additional shims if/as necessary to adjust the spacing without removing the whole unit each time, just loosening the 2 bolts. (If they were a full circle shim, you'd need to remove-n-replace each increment).

I believe that Sin City has direct bolt in aftermarket master cylinders at a reasonable price. FWIW. Pat

I'm sure you know this, but I'll throw it out there. The 260Z MS bore is 7/8, Roadster OEM is 3/4. So it will have some effect on stopping and Pedal pressure. I'll leave it to others who went this direction or contemplated doing so how much of a braking effect it will be. I know the 260Z MS prices are very attractive, under $50 in some cases. But it is your brakes, kind of of important they work perfectly.
