I realize the rotors are a press fit on the hubs. Is it really necessary to get them pressed on or will sequentially tightening the bolts that hold the two pieces together (to be sure they go together parallel) do the trick? In other words, is the pressure of the bolt tightening sufficient to press the two parts together?
I'm not looking for a shortcut, just wondering what the common practice is here.

RE:Front Hubs & Rotors
I do not think they are suppose to be a press fit. They are a very tight tolerance. I use a brass drift to seperate them. After years of being bolted together sometimes you swear they are welded together. I actually use a small dab of anti-seize so the next time I have to take them apart I do not have to beat too hard with the brass drift and hammer. Bolting them back together and torquing snugs things up just fine. At least none of mine have come loose or fallen off after this method.
