Greg, ugh, somehow can't find your recent post. I think you were looking for a 4-1 header. Looks to me this might be an option: https://www.datsunroadster.nl/part/road ... er-u202000

Humm, Jon, I can't get your link to open----------could be my older mac. This one is on the same site and looks to be offered in their parts for sale. at $1800 USD it is not for the faint of wallet, but looks to be well done: 4 equal length, fits inside the rails, big flange, stainless.

Hi guys, thank you for the link... the last one worked... very nice and is proven to fit on LHD cars with the steering rod. Would probably fit relatively easily on my car as I don't have a forward exhaust mount and the flex tube is between the x-frame rails now. Expensive yes. Worth it? Hard to say. The posted torque increases noted on a similar header (Lou's) in the 3000+ rpm range is nice, and exactly where I do much of my driving and is a sweet spot on this engine. With the Isky cam I often think I'm in 4th gear instead of 5th with how the engine responds at 3200-3400rpm or so. I have yet to determine if I have Dean's 1 1/2" or the 1 5/8" header (caliper battery is dead!), and if I would see similar improvements if I have the smaller and swapped to the larger... every engine is different and mine is not stock. And bigger isn't necessarily better. Typically, a 4-2-1 gives a bit more torque down low vs a 4-1. Is Dean's larger header even available anymore... I don't see it on the site (?). They too have proven themselves as excellent headers. Unfortunately it's unlikely I'll get the car on the dyno before spring to do a final timing map tune so as of be able to do a "before and after" header change. I'll probably wait until the timing map is finalized and see what the dyno says, then consider a swap. In the meantime please continue to give options and opinions!

Ah, good to know! Production timing would work for my timeline... now to get a caliper battery and a measurement... thanks for posting Dean!

There is the option of chopping an existing header and fitting three 2-1 merge collectors to make your own 4-2-1 header as I did with the 1600 header for my 1800cc stroker (header thread).....Wouldn't be too expensive.
You wouldn't have 'equal' length primaries (not a big deal in my opinion), and you could make the secondaries a bit longer to suit your rpm range.
Just have to find someone who could weld it all together for you and get it ceramic coated.

Did you open up the frame to fit a larger exhaust through?

Certainly an interesting idea...
Yes the frame is opened up... I believe it's 2.25" to the muffler, the 2.5" out... might be 2" then 2.25" (didn't want any vibration). I had them put the flex tube in between the X frame, so far so good.
Thanks for the thought Daryl.
