Tall vs. Short windshield base dimensions

I would like to determine if the bottom/base of the Tall windshields is the same size piece as a Low windshield (both the curve and the bottom bolts position). The same questions applies to how the windshield side pieces connect to the body/frame. Overall I am wondering if you are willing to ignore the vent window difference, are the tall/short 1600/2000 windshield bases the same? Can either one physically be attached to any SPL/SRL roadster if you ignore the vent windows?

The low windshield cars have a removable multi-piece frame, the later cars are part of the body. If you're asking if a tall shield could be cut to fit a low windshield car... no idea.

There is a thread here on 311s of a guy who did it.
Tall windshield install on a low windshield car. It's a long thread with quite a bit of fabrication work.

I'll look for it tonight.

What I'm trying to do is replicate the SEMA Roadster chopped down windshield. I asked about the high windshield cars as I was hoping to design it to fit on either style car. It sounds like the high windshield owners will have to cutoff their existing windshield to use one. My design will allow easily switching between the standard low windshield and the chopped one.

Ah. Clear now. The somewhat famous "chopped and swapped" Roadster has a build thread here on 311s. Take a look. This car has exactly what you're proposing - the option for the low windshield or vintage gentleman's racecar plexi windshield.

I emailed them and they gave advice that has been somewhat productive. Making this happen has become a personal mission.
