This is an EXACT replacement for your broken/missing original. Simply snap the new replacement (US made, not Chinese) in place in your original cover and install on your fuse box.
How do you get one? For a minimum gift of $10 to this ministry – er, website – yours will be mailed to the address you pm me. You MUST respond by posting “PM Sent” here, and only one per registered member. You are on your own (honor system) in terms of making your gift to this website by check or money order (Steve no longer has a PayPal account). You may even wait until after you have received the pin from me before contributing.

The purpose here is twofold: to increase participation in funding the continued operation of 311s.org, and to provide a replacement part for owners who wish to preserve both original function and appearance. There are numerous other fixes that most of us have tried for this problem. Please start a separate thread rather than offering any such solution here.
Thank you!

The first photo shows the two pieces you will receive from me to the right of a broken assembly. Putting a light film of dielectric on the prongs of the ring helps to snap it into place w/o damage as shown in the second photo. Also putting a light film on the outer post of the pin helps to snap it into place shown in the third photo. Now, pull back on the pin until it snaps back (just as it did in 1969), and reinstall on your fuse box!
