The 15+ year old tires on my '68 1600 need replacing. They don't actually have that many miles on them as it sits in storage a lot but safety first. I am looking for tires that have the original-looking thin whitewall. The wheels are stock 14". I don't need expensive high-performance tires but I also don't want cheap, rough-riding ones Thanks.

this is wider than recommended for a 4.5 inch wheel but I know others owners have used it. This is pretty close to OEM tire diameter so you won't be off by much on the speedo accuracy. This Tiger Paw is from a quality brand and has the thin correct whitewall.

I put these on. I don't drive really hard so they work fine for me.

Curtis,

Are you using the stock 14" x 4" wheels?

Thanks

I thought as much. As you found out the 4" wheel doesn't offer much in the way of tire variety that is safe to mount.
